Those who've been following my ramblings and or videos will know I'm rather partial to the Rapala Magnum Countdown lures for off shore use, employing them almost every open water session I participate in. Rapala were kind enough to send me a few new lures the other day, intended for flatater fishing action - specifically for use in the upcoming ABT Hobie kayak fishing series round in the Clarence River, which I'll be partaking in. Among the lures provided were a few X-Raps deep & extreme diving slashbaits, which I've had tremendous success with in the past. There was also a provocative looking little FatRap lure, which although I've never tried before, looks certain to produce good results.
But of the lot of them, the one I'm most curious to experiement with is the Countdown sinking CD3, which is made of balsa wood. If I can find anywhere near the same sort of success on bread & butter species with the mini version, I reckon I'll be looking good for a placing.
