Evergreen Littlemax Blades

Author: josh

evergreen_littlemax_bladeBlade style lures have turned into a large blip on my radar in recent months and as such I've been keeping a closer eye on available types. By far the most blade style lures you see are fairly small and are heavily favoured for fishing bream & bass. Tailor, trevally, jewfish and flathead are other examples of estuary fish they are capable of catching. Personally I'm more interested in larger variants that can be used effectively in deeper water oceans, especially now having discovered how snapper will take them liberally. I've discovered that heavier blades are multi-functional, useful for open ocean trolling, jigging and casting at structure or fish activity. And recently I also discovered that Evergreen make a range of colours in a couple of weights that were of great interest to me - 3/4 and 1oz.

The Evergreen blades look to be a tough little number, with a very high quality finish that seems to be more scratch resistant to some that I have used. They sport dual barbs instead of the treble variety (which make them a little easier to handle and a little less destructive to fish) and like most blades, have three towing points. I've got 10 different colours to try out and as part of my on-going blade fishing experiment, my aim is to try and figure out if any particular colours outperform the others. Viewers will be seeing these blades pop up in my videos a fair bit, I'm betting for the most part being extracted from fishy mouths. I'll follow up with a full review some time down the track when I've tested them thoroughly
