'Balls' AI C ball mount

A rear mounted rod holder set up has evolved into the preferred method for most Hobie Adventure Island (AI) yak fishos, though mounting RAM C balls (the most popular brand of mount for use in AIs) onto the rear xbar can be a little tricky. Theres several ways of going about it and which model you have (2011 onwards or all year models prior) is likely to influence which way you swing. For earlier model AIs (with original xbar aka connectors), the best method I've seen personally has been cobbled together by Steve 'Balls' Foster and it goes a little like this

Actually, I think the story goes that he designed it and got someone else to build it. Either way, the end result is pretty solid and a really good alternative to the various other methods I've seen used.
