I was recently asked whether or not I'd tried kayak fishing with Shimano's new Lucanus jigging lures, to which I replied, 'Lucanna-what?' But googling into it I liked the look of these lures so decided to seek them out and give them a try. When I found them in the local tackle store, sitting right next to them was Daiwa's counterpart - the Bayrubber jigging lure. Being just a few bucks cheaper than the Shimano variant (and looking slightly cheaper to) I thought I might grab one of those as well and compare them. Both lures have a great reputation for snapper, so with the surface-fish season about to dawn (we hope) I'm unsure how much use they'll get before it cools down again.
