Real-Ezy Trailer for Adventure Island

Author: josh

Of the various bits & pieces of equipment flaunted by participants in the fishing/camping week at Woody Head, the show-and-tell winner was easily the Real-Ezy Trailer built for the Hobie Adventure Island (AI). With the majority of yakkers present being AI owners, a lot of attention was drawn to this little beauty, and for good reason. Anyone who has to go through the rigours of car-topping one of these yaks knows that a trailer like this is an excellent option. This is always going to be true of heavier kayaks (such as tandems and over-sized tournament fishing yaks) but especially something like the AI.

This is especially true for a yak like the AI, particularly when it's matched with a dedicated trailer to suit, which allows for the AI to be loaded and unloaded without having to remove the akas and amas, seat and even rod holders. The benefits are obvious to someone with an eternally injured shoulder like myself, but not just because of the ease involved. The speed in which it can be done is also a major plus. Early morning outings are much smoother when the chore of loading, unloading and then rigging the yak are streamlined to almost nothing. The AI sits nice and securely onto the trailer and can be loaded and unloaded by a single person (even an injured one) with ease, making the Real-Ezy trailer a perfectly fitting name for the product.

Using the Real-Ezy Trailer, I'll save at least 30 minutes in the day, being blessed with a much faster process of loading the yak onto the trailer, unloading it again at the ramp, rigging the boat and then doing all this in reverse at the end of the trip. Without having to get the yak onto the roof, then off again, then assemble the akas, amas, backrest and rod holders, and then having to do all of that again in reverse, the process is simply faster & easier. A side benefit being that the car roof won't suffer any damage from sand & salt water making contact with the cars paint work.

Featuring coil springs and a sturdy galvanized steel construction, it's also a very high quality trailer as well. Here's some of the features you'll find and appreciate in the Real Ezy Trailer for the AI:

- Independent coil suspension, which produces a very smooth ride.
- Comes with split light board, compliance plate, 8" wheels and 3:1 winch.
- All rollers are fully adjustable including side supports.
- 50 x 50 x 2 mm gal frame
- Wheels and mudguards are easily detached for separate storage and weight distribution.
- Can be assembled in less than six minutes.
- Portable, foldable, easy to assemble, multi purpose eg. Boat, Bike or Kayak
- Delivery can be arranged Australia wide with Star Track Express
- Can be registered Australia wide and certified with RTA NSW
- Can be towed at all legal limits.

Update: I could never stop thinking about this trailer after borrowing it for that weekend and have since actually bought it (the very same one) from Real Ezy trailers and have been using it for the past year. Sames me time, saves me effort and I absolutely love it.
